PARS‑TOC is a sterile, non‑pyrogen lyophilized radiopharmaceutical kit formulated for the preparation of 99mTc‑HYNIC‑Octreotide for diagnostic use, aimed at detecting lesions with increased somatostatin receptor expression via SPECT imaging. Each vial contains 25 µg of HYNIC‑Octreotide as a sterile, non‑pyrogen lyophilized powder, and after radiolabeling, it is used for intravenous administration.
- Diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors or gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP‑NET)
- Diagnosis of pituitary adenoma
- Diagnosis of other tumors with somatostatin receptor expression, including: breast cancer, melanoma, lymphoma, prostate cancer, non‑small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), sarcoma, renal cell carcinoma, differentiated thyroid carcinoma, glioblastoma multiforme, meningioma, and ovarian cancer
99mTc‑HYNIC‑Octreotide is a radiolabeled somatostatin analog that, after intravenous administration, binds specifically to somatostatin receptors. Since many neuroendocrine tumors and certain other malignancies overexpress especially SSTR2, this compound accumulates after binding to receptors on the surface of tumor cells. As a result, areas with high receptor density appear as foci of increased uptake on SPECT nuclear imaging. This feature enables detection and localization of primary and metastatic lesions, assessment of disease extent, and evaluation of patient suitability for therapies based on somatostatin analogs.
